Business Analytics
The Business Analytics dashboard provides insights into your quilting business performance — customer metrics, financial data, operational efficiency, and workflow patterns all in one view. Metrics update automatically as you add quilts, customers, and invoices.
Customer Insights#
- Total Customers: Overall customer count (all time)
- New Customers: Customers added in the past 30 days, with year-to-date comparison
- Repeat Customers: Percentage of customers with 2+ quilts — measures loyalty and retention
- Average Lifetime Value: Average total revenue per customer across all invoices
Financial Metrics#
- Invoice Value (This Month): Total value of invoices created this month, with YTD comparison
- Outstanding Invoices: Total unpaid amount with count of unpaid invoices
- Revenue by Rate Type: Bar chart showing revenue breakdown by quilting rate (per square inch, flat rate, etc.)
- Top Customers by Spend: Bar chart of highest-spending customers with quilt counts
Operational Metrics#
- Quilts by Location: Pie chart of quilt distribution across pickup/dropoff locations (filterable by time range)
- Machine Utilization: Pie chart of quilts processed per machine (filterable by time range)
- Average Turnaround Time: Average days from intake to completion
- Completed This Year: Total quilts completed in the current calendar year
Workflow & Activity#
- Pending Quilts Table: Quick reference showing up to 5 active quilts with key details
- Yearly Activity Heatmap: GitHub-style heatmap showing daily quilt activity throughout the year — color intensity indicates volume
Popular Items#
- Top Patterns: Most frequently used quilt patterns
- Top Threads: Most commonly used thread colors/types
- Top Services: Most frequently added extra services (binding, backing, etc.)
Use these to optimize inventory and keep popular supplies in stock.
Tips#
- Complete all fields on quilts and customers for the most accurate analytics
- Use consistent naming for patterns, threads, and services so they group correctly
- Update statuses promptly for accurate workflow and turnaround metrics
- Use time range filters on pie charts to compare recent trends to historical data
