Scheduling System

The Scheduling System helps you plan and visualize your quilting workflow. Schedule quilt start dates, track deadlines, and manage your workload with calendar and timeline views.

View Modes#

The Schedule page offers two views, toggled with buttons at the top of the page.

Calendar#

Displays quilts in a traditional calendar format with month, week, and day views.

  • Month view: Full month grid with color-coded dots and customer names per day. Shows "+X" when more than 3 quilts fall on one date.
  • Week view: 7-day layout with larger quilt cards showing customer, pattern, and status
  • Day view: Single-day focus, optimized for mobile
  • Click the "+" button on any day to create a new quilt with that date pre-filled
  • Navigate with previous/next arrows

Timeline#

Displays quilts on a horizontal axis, arranged chronologically.

  • Quilts alternate above and below the timeline for clarity
  • Scheduled quilts (blue/yellow dots) and completed quilts (green dots) are visually distinct
  • Click any marker or card to view quilt details
  • Scroll horizontally to view extended time periods

Scheduling Quilts#

Set a Scheduled Start Date when creating or editing a quilt to place it on the schedule. You can also click "+" on a calendar date to create a quilt with that date pre-filled.

Set a Deadline date to track when quilts need to be finished. Quilts past their deadline show a red "Overdue" badge.

To remove a quilt from the schedule without deleting it, clear the Scheduled Start Date field.

Filters#

Click "Filters" to narrow the schedule view:

  • Status: Multi-select (Received, In Progress, Completed, Delivered)
  • Customer: Searchable dropdown, multi-select
  • Date Range: Custom from/to dates

An active filter badge shows the count, and you can clear individual filters or all at once.

Visual Indicators#

StatusColor
ReceivedBlue
In ProgressYellow/Orange
CompletedGreen
DeliveredGray
  • Current date is highlighted with a distinct border
  • Overdue quilts show red badges and borders
  • Colors are consistent across calendar and timeline views

Tips#

  • Plan weekly: Check week view each Monday to balance your workload
  • Leave buffer time: Don't overload days — account for complexity and delays
  • Use timeline for long-term planning, calendar for daily/weekly
  • Use filters to reduce clutter and focus on specific customers or statuses
  • Schedule in batches: Group similar quilts to minimize machine setup changes
