Login Help & Password Reset
This page covers everything you need to know about signing in to your account, resetting a forgotten password, and resolving common login issues.
Signing In#
To log in to Quilt Logger:
- Go to the Quilt Logger website
- Click Sign In (or go directly to the login page)
- Enter your email address and password
- Click Sign In
You'll be taken to your dashboard after a successful login.
Reminder: You must verify your email address before you can sign in for the first time. If you haven't done that yet, check your inbox for the verification email sent when you signed up.
Forgot Your Password?#
If you can't remember your password, you can reset it in just a few steps.
Step 1: Go to the Forgot Password Page#
On the login page, click the Forgot Password? link below the Sign In button.
Step 2: Enter Your Email Address#
Type in the email address you used to create your Quilt Logger account and click Send Reset Link.
Step 3: Check Your Email#
You'll receive an email with a Reset Password button. Click it to open the password reset page.
- The link expires after 1 hour for security
- If you don't see the email within a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder
Step 4: Create a New Password#
On the reset page, enter a new password. Your password must:
- Be at least 8 characters long
- Include at least one uppercase letter (e.g., A, B, C)
- Include at least one lowercase letter (e.g., a, b, c)
- Include at least one number (e.g., 1, 2, 3)
Type your new password a second time to confirm it, then click Reset Password.
Step 5: Sign In#
You'll be redirected to the login page. Sign in with your email address and your new password.
Tip: If you use a password manager app (like 1Password or the one built into your phone), this is a good time to update your saved password.
Didn't Receive the Reset Email?#
If the password reset email hasn't arrived after a few minutes:
- Check your spam folder — emails from Quilt Logger sometimes end up there
- Make sure you used the right email address — try any other email addresses you may have used when signing up
- Add Quilt Logger to your safe senders list — this prevents future emails from going to spam
- Try again — go back to the Forgot Password page and send the link again
If you've tried all of the above and still can't receive the email, contact support through the Feedback button in the app or reach out by email.
Didn't Receive Your Verification Email?#
When you first sign up, you'll receive a verification email before you can log in. If you didn't get it:
- Check your spam or junk folder
- Click Resend Verification Email on the "Check Your Email" page
- Make sure you entered your email correctly during sign-up
The verification link expires after 24 hours. If your link has expired, click Resend to get a new one.
Changing Your Password#
If you're already logged in and want to update your password:
- Click Settings in the top menu
- Scroll to the Authentication section
- Enter your current password
- Enter your new password
- Confirm your new password by typing it again
- Click Save Changes
Security tip: Use a password that you don't use for other websites. Consider using a password manager to keep track of it.
Changing Your Email Address#
If you need to sign in with a different email address:
- Sign in with your current email
- Go to Settings → Authentication
- Find the Email field and enter your new email address
- A verification email will be sent to your new address
- Click the verification link in that email to confirm the change
Your old email address stays active until you complete verification. If you don't verify the new email, nothing changes.
Common Login Issues#
"Invalid email or password"#
- Double-check that you're using the correct email address
- Passwords are case-sensitive — check that Caps Lock is not on
- Try the Forgot Password flow to reset your password
- Make sure you're not using an email address from a different account
"Please verify your email before logging in"#
You need to click the link in the verification email that was sent when you signed up. Check your inbox and spam folder. If you can't find it, use the Resend Verification Email option on the login page.
The page isn't loading#
- Check your internet connection
- Try refreshing the page
- Try a different browser (Chrome or Edge work best)
- Clear your browser's cache (usually found in Settings → History → Clear Browsing Data)
I'm being logged out frequently#
This is normal security behavior — Quilt Logger automatically signs you out after a period of inactivity to protect your account. Simply sign in again to continue.
